In 1904, Edgefield Cumberland Presbyterian Church welcomed the first parishioners through the doors of its grand Romanesque home at the corner of Russell and South 9th streets in East Nashville. Over a century later, the space has been reborn as The Russell, a conceptdriven hotel with vibrant design elements and cheeky amenities that reflect the creative spirit of its neighborhood. Powell Architecture + Building Studio led the concept and design of The Russell, a development project by Micah Lacher of Anchor Investments.
To bring the 15,000 sq ft to life in an authentic way, Powell called on more than a dozen local independent makers, designers and artists
to contribute work to the project. Seasoned Rep, Whitney Braisted, helped find the perfect selections using products from our
stock profile and boutique sourcing.
