The Trend: Dopamine Decor

 

2024 is seeing the rise of “kidulting” and dopamine decor. Now more than ever, we’re seeking spaces that spark joy, creativity, and a touch of fantasy. By layering colors and patterns, Dopamine decor stimulates the happiness hormone in our brains and is the much needed pendulum swing from the long lived Grey Space Empire.


The Color Palette:

Wildly imaginative spaces are brought to life with vivid colors that are each bold on their own, but work together in an unexpected yet harmonious way. This daring approach with saturated hues is a drastic change from the organic neutrals we’ve seen.

Use of color in hard finishes like tile generates a strong emotional response for dwellers, envoking feelings of happiness, nostalgia, and wonderland. Notable colors from this trend are Meta Pink, Apple Sour, and Lapis Lazuli.

Rondo is one of our latest new stocked collections: a double-fired pressed ceramic tile from Italy.  The etymology of ‘Rondo’ is traced to the Italian form of the French rondeau, which means “a little round”. Rondo form is a piece of music where the musical material stated at the beginning of the piece keeps returning- just like a circle. It was this musical theme that inspired the designers for this collection.

With both a deco option and a flat option, the possibilities for bold pattern are endless. This tile brings a fun and funky motif to any project, and can create many unique looks in any of the four offered colors. 









Tubes

Originally inspired by Roman and Greek pillars, fluted tile has taken the design world by storm and this fresh interpretation answers the call to a new post modern era and embraces the unconventional. 

Pastelli

Pastelli is a new unglazed throughbody mosaic program. Suitable for almost any application, these mosaics can be placed indoor, outdoor, submerged, and along curved walls. Because of it’s Bioshield+ technology, Pastelli has anti-stain & anti-moulding properties.
